Storing Kitchen Appliances with Limited Space

Creatively Store Kitchen Appliances When Cabinet Space is Limited

Limited cabinet space in a kitchen can make it very difficult to properly store appliances and
other items. When cabinet space is limited, small appliances like blenders, toasters, food
processors and can openers usually end up finding a permanent home on kitchen counters, which
means those counters become cluttered. If you want to reclaim your counter space and keep
small kitchen appliances out of sight, here are a few things you can do:

Hang pans on the wall

Pots and pans take up a considerable amount of space in your kitchen cabinets. If you want to
make some room in your cabinets for small appliances, consider putting some hooks up on the
wall that you can use to hang up your pans. If your pots are taking up a considerable amount of
space, you may want to invest in a rack to hold your pots, plates, spices and kitchen decorations.

Purchase a microwave cart

A microwave cart will free up some space on your counters, and you can use that space to store
excess appliances without risk of the counters becoming cluttered. A microwave usually comes
with shelves below a top shelf where you place your microwave. You can use the shelves below
the top shelf to store other kitchen items, which will free up some extra space in your cabinets.

Attach basket shelves to your current shelves

You can attach basket shelves to the bottom of the shelves in your kitchen cabinets. These will
provide you with some extra space to store plates, cups and other kitchenware as well as small
appliances.

Figure out what you don’t need

You’ll never be able to get organized in your kitchen if you’re holding onto a bunch of things
you don’t use anymore. So, go through everything in to simplify the space. Throw superfluous
items out, give them to someone else or donate them to a non-profit organization.

There’s no reason to let limited cabinet space get you down. You have the power to create extra
space in your cabinets and in your kitchen in general!

  1. It is very common that you get no extra space when your small appliances compete with your other kitchen utensils on the kitchen counter top. You must look for sturdy rack for your pots and pans. This will give you a lot of space for other kitchen stuff.

  2. This was a great and helpful article. I was recently married, and my wife and I are now living in a 2/1 apartment, with ALL of our wedding presents and much more. There is just not enough space to put them, especially considering most of them are items to be stored in the kitchen area…what a nightmare!

    Thanks for the post!

Thumbs up! This is definitely a very good idea of limiting spaces on kitchen appliances and other kitchen stuff for a more organized look at home. I’m willing to buy such wonderful things! This is great!
