Mini Caramel Apples
This is a treat that I can’t wait to try! This recipe is extremely simple and a great way to spend time with the kids. You know it’s becoming that time of the year where kids have a class party just about every other week, and this recipe is awesome to send them to school with and share with the class.
What you will need:
- 4-inch lollipop sticks
- Melon baller
- Granny Smith apples (one apple makes about 8 minis)Butterscotch or peanut butter chips
- Chopped nuts, nonpareils, sprinkles, shredded coconut, or any other topping you can think of that would go good with apples. (I thought crushed Oreos or mini chocolate chips would be a good idea)
- Small paper candy cups
5 Simple steps:
- Cut the lollipop sticks in half at an angle. The pointy end is how you will be able to poke the stick into the apple bits.
- With the melon baller scoop little balls out of the apple. Each ball should have some of the apple peel on it.
- Push half of the lollipop stick into the peel of each ball and then pat them dry. Patting them dry helps the peanut butter or butterscotch stick better. I noticed this issue when I made chocolate covered strawberries for the first time.
- Melt the chips according to the directions on the package. Dip and swirl the mini apples into the melted chips and then roll them into your favorite topping.
- Place the mini apples in the paper candy cups to set. They will set faster if you place the candy apples in their cups on a cookie sheet and stick them in the fridge. Also I like my fruit cold even if it is covered in candy goodness, so sticking them in the fridge is what I like to do.

This seems like a really nice dessert! We are having our reunion next month and I cannot wait to try this out. I hope I can make it right, though, so that it comes out perfect.
They are so simple to make, I actually made some of them a few days ago and they were delicious. Though I will say cutting the lollipop sticks was hard, but tooth picks made a nice replacement
My nieces and their moms will be visiting two days from today and I would like to try this out. If I can stand not eating them first, of course, haha. Thanks for this delicious blog.
I had a hard time not eating them as I was making them, but there’s actually a bit of apple left over so you can always cut out extra pieces just for yourself
