College Housing
When it comes to college housing, students are never guaranteed anything on-campus. Every year beginning in June, right after high school graduation, and running all through summer, freshman and transfer students from all different colleges are in search for housing for the upcoming semester.

After my first year of college I decided to transfer, and I had the same problem. The new university I attended did not provide me with on-campus housing or any alternative. Of course the first thing I did was joined a Facebook group that consisted of incoming freshman and transfer students looking for housing. I couldn’t believe how many students were in the same predicament I was. We are not animals. Don’t let your school leave you out in the cold.
This happens every year. And ever year I notice a Facebook group forms for the primary purpose of finding roommates and looking for apartments or houses for rent around campus. Eventually I found a 2-bedroom one story house for myself and another to live in a few blocks from campus, but it was such a hassle.
Here I am three years later writing a blog for ForRent.com, a website I could have easily used to cut out all the inconvenience. If you click on our search tab at the top of our homepage (directly to the right of our logo), it will redirect you to an advanced option search page. Select the ‘College’ tab, and there you will be able to search all the apartments in our databases within a specific proximity to your school, defined by the searcher.
Don’t wait until it is too late. This type of problem will not fix itself. Be proactive and check out our college search options at ForRent.com.
