Contest Winners Announced:ForRent.com and RENT Viva La Vie Boheme Facebook Contest
On November 9th, 2009 ForRent.com and RENT: The Broadway Tour sent out a message to help apartment seekers live the Bohemian life with the “Viva La Vie Boheme” Facebook contest! Apartment seekers showed how they live “la vie Boheme” by uploading pictures of their free-spirited, apartment living lifestyle to ForRent.com’s Facebook Page. Visitors were then encouraged to vote on their favorite photo through the “like” feature with the top five most ‘liked’ photos, and others, to be submitted to the cast of RENT for the selection of a winner! The winner of the grand prize gets an opportunity to fly with a friend to Sacramento to attend the final performance of RENT: The Broadway Tour in February and the selected finalists will each get RENT: The Broadway Tour memorabilia.
Although the winners were suppose to be announced on Friday, January 8th, 2010, the cast members asked to have a few more days to deliberate. That’s how awesome they thought the photos were! So we want to thank you all for your patience! We have just heard from RENT: The Broadway Tour cast members about their picks and here they are!!
Grand Prize Winner: “Song Lyrics” Meghan Wright
Meghan is our grand prize winner to go see RENT: The Broadway Tour in Sacramento!! Congratulations Meghan! She did a great job of showing us how they “live each moment as their [our] last”. The song lyrics on the poster board in combination with the interactive tagging in the photo really brought home the fun bohemian lifestyle! Thank you Meghan for being such a dedicated RENT fanatic! We hope you have a tremendous time seeing RENT!
First Runner Up: “Born on the Day RENT Opened” Patty Hasse
Patty’s daughter Megan is destined to be a RENTHEAD with her birth date taking place on the day RENT debuted first on Broadway. Her true dedication to offer up her Christmas, birthday, and graduation gifts to be able to see RENT again really shows her LOVE for the musical. The tagging in the photo includes descriptions which illustrate all the RENT ways.
Second Runner Up: “PLAY FOR RENT” Sarah Escovedo
We feel that Sarah really had a very original and creative photo with her combination of interactive features: tagging the photos and the scavenger hunt (“how many elements from the song ‘La Vie Boheme’ can you spot here?”). She also had one of the highest user generated “like[d]” photos in the contest providing that others agree with us!
Third Runner Up: “Artistic Mural” Jeanne Henault
We love the creativity and originality of this photo submission. The artistic mural painted in the background is truly amazing. And the tagging in the photos to incorporate ‘Via La Vie Boheme’ really helps drive home the fun bohemian lifestyle of these gals!
