Buying candles and air fresheners for your apartment can get expensive. Today, you will learn how to create a fresh smelling potpourri that is heated on your stove. By combining fresh ingredients and spices and warming then in your kitchen, you will freshen up your home chemical and additive free!

What you will need:

  • Stove

  • Large pot

  • one whole orange or just the orange peel

  • 1/2 cup cranberries

  • 1 Tbsp. whole cloves

  • 3 sticks of cinnamon or a small handful of small pieces of cinnamon

  • a bit of grated nutmeg if desired

What to do:

Quarter the orange.  Put all the ingredients into the pot.  Fill pot with water, or optionally, you can choose apple cider.  Place on the stove on the smallest burner, on the lowest setting.  Refill water/cider as needed.

What a wonderful and budget friendly way to scent your home. You can also experiment with adding other citrus fruits, extracts, or leaves.
