Coffee House Dieting Tips
If there is one thing you can say about Americans, it’s that we love our coffee. Many people can’t function without their morning pick me up whether it’s coffee, cream and sugar, or something that kind of resembles the coffee taste but has only a little bit of actual coffee. While most of the coffee shop baristas know their customers and their orders by sight, here is a way to switch things up without destroying your diet.
Large Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha with Whipped Cream.
Don’t lie, we have all enjoyed this or something similar on occasion. Who wouldn’t want to, its hot and creamy and delicious. Now lets break down what you just drank for a sugar and caffeine rush. The amount of sugar in this drink is equivalent to 8 and 1/2 scoops of ice cream. The amount of calories and saturated fat is more than two slices of deep-dish sausage and pepperoni pizza. YIKES!
Alternative: Cinnamon Dolce Latte with sugar-free syrup. This only has 260 calories, 6g of fat, and 38g of sugar. Much better for you, but still sweet.
Large White Hot Chocolate with Whipped Cream.
Chocolate lovers everywhere beware: the sugar equivalent is three treats short of two boxes of marshmellowy treats. At 520 calories, 16g of fat and 75g of sugar.
Alternative: make it a medium, get non-fat milk and skip the whipped cream. This brings the count down to 240 calories, 2.5g of fat, and only 40g of sugar.
Good Drinks to Get:
Medium Skinny Hazelnut Latte: 110 calories, 0g fat, 17g sugar
Large Coffee: 25 calories, 0g fat, 0g sugar (unless you add it)
Stay Away From:
Medium Hazelnut Hot Chocolate (no whip. cream): 480 calories, 19g fat, 60g sugar
Medium Iced White Chocolate Mocha: 340 calories, 9g fat, 52g sugar

Yeah, Americans love coffee too much.
I don’t think Americans are alone in the coffee-loving department.
