National Play in the Sand Day
August 11th is National Play in the Sand Day. It’s still hot outside and summer is not over yet, which means you still have the opportunity to take a quick getaway. Who doesn’t love going to the beach? I live about twenty minutes away, and try to go whenever possible. Most weekends we get up early, pack a cooler full of snacks and drinks, and hit the road. We always bring a football, and randomly we’ll bring cornhole, bocce ball, or ladder golf (click on the links for further explanation). My friends and I will stay from about 11:00 AM to… whenever we’re too tired or too burnt to stay any longer. If you can’t get to a beach, why not head to the closest lake? Maybe go for a little camping trip? Tubing is also a great activity!
Wouldn’t it be nice to take a weekend and drive over to the closest sandy getaway? Pick a date and meet some friends, or take the family for a little rest and relaxation. The beach never gets old. If you have the opportunity to make the trip, then why not take it? Take a break, you deserve it.
